Why is it hidden?

Updated: May 27, 2022

One of the things we love about the house is it is so low key from the street. Located on a cul-de-sac, all you see are the beautiful stone wall and garage doors. The house is revealed as you walk down a long wooden deck to the front door, while seeing an incredible view of the ocean and canyon. The back of the house with the dramatic orange beams is only visible from our property, and the surrounding backyards of the other houses. You cannot see the house from any other vantage point, so it was virtually unknown to the MCM community. The restored exterior makes a great backdrop to our 1963 Studebaker Avanti.

A friend's 1961 vintage Plymouth Fury looks perfect in the driveway. This photo was taken before the exterior restoration and you can see the "National Park" style heavy stain on the redwood, which has now been sanded off and replaced with a more natural transparent stain to let the grain show through.

The photo below shows a view of the house from across the canyon.
