Let there be light - skylight restoration

A huge custom skylight, originally installed in 1987, runs the width of the house bringing light to the master bath and family room.

The insulated glass (above) had deteriorated completely- the white haze was between the glass where the seals had broken. While working on the bathroom in the summer, we discovered that it was too HOT under that old skylight!

After John installed the new glass - it looks great, plenty of light, no heat. We used etched glass so that the light would be filtered, and it would not create the intense heat we had experienced. The view was ugly with electrical wires, so the etched glass turned out to be a great decision.
